Rain, rain try as you may but cannot ruin this photo shoot today. (Poem/rap by the Photosapien)
There are times where certain unforeseeable obstacles come REAL close to ruining a good photo shoot. Weather is one. It’s uncontrollable and once the rain or snow or hail hits, there’s nothing you can do about it other than run, hide, or reschedule. I dislike any of those options. So in this case, we decided to BEAT the rain.
The shoot was moved up a few hours and we were golden.
Chris and Monique picked one of my favourite spots to shoot, Toronto’s HTO Park by the waterfront. Lots to see and great spots to shoot except for the OTHER unplanned hiccup; construction.
Road closures, ugly temporary fences, bright signs and detours can make photo shoot life difficult as well. Bleh. But when you have a little bit of smarts behind a camera, it all can be eliminated like it was put through Photoshop. Find different angles and points of view to achieve this. If different angles are hard to come by (tight spaces) then move objects or subjects until you are happy. Why settle for a shot you don’t like?!
Take a look at some shots from our shoot and you’ll see that no obstacle is too great to overcome on a Photosapien shoot. (Except a last minute break up).
